21st Annual Rhode Island Open

RI Open 21The Annual Rhode Island Open historically attracts the most talented artists in Rhode Island, and this exhibition is one of the most prestigious of the year that we offer. Of the pieces accepted to the Rhode Island Open, a number of works will be singled out for cash prize awards. The Warwick Tourism, Culture and Development Department is the gracious sponsor to this year?s $200 Best in Show prize, in addition to $150, $100 and three honorable mention prizes which will be awarded at the opening reception on Friday, October 12, 2007.

The Rhode Island Open serves not only as an exhibition that represents the best Rhode Island visual art but as an important fundraiser for the Warwick Museum of Art. The Open helps support the Summer Art Camp, Museum School Classes and Workshops and allows the WMOA to continue to bring valuable cultural programs to the Warwick and Kent County area.

Book, Art and Craft sale at the Aspray Boathouse

Show Dates: October 6th

The Aspray Boathouse serves as a community focal point for Pawtuxet Village, and is available for several area non-profit agencies, including the Gaspee Days Committee, Pawtuxet Village Association, etc., as well as serving as a Warwick Ward 1 polling station, and meeting and resource area for other neighborhood groups.

Hazy, Lazy, Daisy Show Exhibition

The Warwick Museum of Art invites you to join us Saturday August 18th from 7-9 p.m for the opening of our Hazy Lazy Daisy end of the summer Exhibition. Hazy Lazy

The show runs from August 18th to September 15th, 2007. Artwork displayed in the exhibition is collected from various Rhode Island artists, depicting scenes of
weather, human interaction, nature, and summer landscapes of Rhode Island.

There is no admission to the gallery, however a small donation to support the Museum is graciously accepted. They gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Save Ocean

The OneWay Gallery in conjunction with the Waterkeeper Alliance, are pleased to bring the group exhibition “SAVE OCEAN” to the Main Exhibition Hall of the OneWay Gallery for the months of July and August.

“SAVE OCEAN” is an open call to artists from around the country. The exhibition will focus on a fresh interpretation of “coastal art”. In keeping with the tradition of the OneWay Gallery and its exhibtion of contemporary forward thinking artists, we are looking to display works that evoke a strong sense of individuality and a sense of purpose in conveying a message of conservation and the importance of coastal and ocean water protection.
